Reverse Racism

I heard a term the other day I had never heard before. The term was “reverse racism.” I pondered what the meaning of this could possibly be but drew a blank as it seemed to be an oxymoron.

So, I looked it up and “reverse racism” is defined as: *Discrimination against members of a dominant or majority group, especially when resulting from policies established to correct discrimination against members of a minority or disadvantaged group

To make sure I am not going crazy, I looked up the definition of “racism.” It is defined as such:

*1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
 2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
And….I’m not seeing a difference. Let’s stop making excuses and start taking action. Hate is taught, not bred. Let’s spend more time teaching right and wrong, rather than rationalizing our behavior.
