Sleep of Sadness

Shadows creep in,

The light fades,

It begins again.

All that we are,

What I dreamed,

Seems a little closer each day.

But you’re trapped,

Locked away,

In my imagination,

Nowhere to be found,

Not to be,

So here we stay,

Together forever,

In my dream.

  1. This poem has a melancholy tone that I think has rung true at least once for dreamers all over. I hope the speaker in this piece is able to unleash the dream spoken of here and is able to witness it grow into reality. (I think that would spark a little hope in all of us dreamers.)
