So out at the local bar about a month ago, I noticed the group at the adjoining fire pit included a brunette who looked just like someone I casually know. I went back and forth a while trying to determine if it was the person I knew.
We needed another round of drinks and I walked back into the bar to order when I turned and found the brunette by my side.
“Excuse me, I have to ask, is your name Alex?” I casually asked, “because you look just like someone I casually know.”
“No, I am sorry it isn’t,” the young lady replied with a smile.
“Oh, I see,” I replied, “well, I am sorry to have troubled you but I hope you are enjoying your night.”
“No problem,” she said.
I grabbed my drink ready to move on but she had more information for me.
“Oh, well there is another girl in our group named Alex though,” she added.
“Oh, well I see, but the point was the girl I know looks a lot like you, so it isn’t necessarily just the name,” I replied.
“Oh, yeah, right, okay, I see,” she added, apparently now seeing my point.
“Right,” I said, at somewhat of a loss for words.
