Midsummer Night – Off and Running!

So tonight was opening night for Stage Door Productions showing of the Shakespeare classic “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” As I mentioned, I am playing King Theseus.

We had ALMOST 200 PEOPLE show up tonight for a Thursday! WOW! Even a couple of dogs were in the audience! Check out this photo showing you the setup:

Robin Williams

The world continues to mourn and react as it appears that the beloved American comedian and actor Robin Williams took his own life, passing at the age of 63 on August 11th. I’m always saddened to learn when anyone takes their life. That an individual felt so lonely and worthless that they felt the world was better off without them makes me feel very disheartened. I wish I could tell them that I care and I am glad they are here in the world, even if I don’t know them. We all have a place, and someone who cares, somewhere.

May you rest in peace Mr. Williams and thank you for the decades of entertainment.

I watched an interesting movie this weekend on Netflix. The movie was entitled Nine Dead and stars Melissa Joan Hart and William Lee Scott. The film is a 2009 horror film in the vein of Hostel and Saw. The premise of the movie involves nine individuals being taken captive and chained within a room. Their captor tells them that they are all there for a reason and have a specific connection. Every 10 minutes, he will kill one of the individuals unless they can tell him why they are there. If they can figure it out, he says he will release all the survivors, call the police, confess, and turn himself in.
