Midsummer Night – Off and Running!

So tonight was opening night for Stage Door Productions showing of the Shakespeare classic “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” As I mentioned, I am playing King Theseus.

We had ALMOST 200 PEOPLE show up tonight for a Thursday! WOW! Even a couple of dogs were in the audience! Check out this photo showing you the setup:

First Director Gig

If you have been following my blog for a little bit, then you are aware of my adventures in the community theatre. It has been a lot of fun and I’ve met a lot of great people.

Recently, I was asked by a local theatre group I have worked with before, Stage Door Productions, to direct a short play in their One Act Festival. The One Act Festival is a reoccurring event at Stage Door where short plays are submitted to the group by playwrights from all over the United States. The personnel at Stage Door choose from the submissions and bring those plays to life! I will have more on the play I am directing later but I think it is going to be a lot of fun. I think the perspective I will gain from directing along with the acting experience I have will help me in my larger goal of writing.

I ghost write a blog for Stage Door Productions called Stage Door Stories. It is a little different from my personal blog with a different writing style but it is really great. I would encourage you to check it out if you enjoy my blog or are into community theatre.
